A one hour drive up near Palm Desert and you will find yourself in a true desert oasis. Coachella Valley Preserve, also known as Thousand Palms, is a unique place to say the least. Laying across the San Andreas fault lines allows a large amount of natural spring water to flow into this otherwise dry area of the desert. The result is a bevy of wildlife and vegetation otherwise not found in the surrounding areas.
Many unique species of bird and reptiles inhabit the park as well as some interesting fish. Spend the day hiking and exploring on a walkway constructed over the natural springs, weaving your way through the luscious palm gardens. There are several hikes and trails to be enjoyed and guided tours are offered as well!
